2008-Jan-23 : How Dr. Dobson [And YOU] Can Take a Risk for True Greatness - I knew that a January 15, 2008 Focus on the Family (FOTF) radio program would be challenging as I listened to Dr. James Dobson and Rev. John MacArthur join forces. Their topic was the obvious fact of national moral decay with the culmination of the two-day series being the role played by the public schools in contributing to the decay. The failed schools defy common sense so I listened to see if their stress would be on what parents need to do about what public schools are doing to their children, or whether a sense of perplexed anguish would be the theme. Sadly, it was mainly, “How did they ever get this bad?”

Dr. Richard A. Jones

Michigan State Coordinator for the Exodus Mandate project.

2005-Sep 01 : Intelligent design efforts likely to fail : The current Supreme Court interpretation of the separation of church and state has allowed the public schools to ignore the long-held belief by most Americans that God is the Creator. Now the same separation views are used to limit the access of intelligent design views to our public school children.

Shortt, co-sponsor of the 2004 Christian Education Resolution and author of The Harsh Truth About Public Schools, have submitted a resolution addressing homosexuality and the public schools for consideration at the SBC's 2005 Annual Meeting. One of the foremost criticisms from Christians who oppose the Exodus Mandate's agenda of encouraging Christian parents to remove their children from the public education system is, "Christian children should not be taken out of public schools because they are serving as 'salt and light' to their classmates and carrying out the Great Commission." (See Matt. 5:13-14 and Matt. 28:18-20) .. full story

2004-Dec 2 : BOOK RELEASE : THE HARSH TRUTH ABOUT PUBLIC SCHOOLS

BY BRUCE N. SHORTT, FOREWORD BY T.C. PINCKNEY,
PUBLISHED BY THE CHALCEDON FOUNDATION

From the Foreword: Bruce Shortt's book, The Harsh Truth about Public Schools, combines a sound Biblical basis, rigorous research, straightforward, easily read language, and eminently sound reasoning. Whether one is a parent or parent-to-be, pastor, church staff member, or educator, this book has much to offer. It is based, first of all, upon a clear understanding of God's educational mandate to parents. Its second foundation is a thoroughly documented description of the inescapably anti-Christian thrust of any governmental school system and the inevitable results...

2004 - Sep 28 : Southern Baptist Battle for Christian Education Moves to the States -- 9.28.2004 - Pinckney-Shortt Christian Education Resolution Inspires Resolutions in at Least 10 Conventions Covering 15 States -- ALEXANDRIA, VA. - When T.C. Pinckney, retired brigadier general and prominent Southern Baptist leader, and Bruce N. Shortt, a Houston, TX attorney and home school father of three children, first joined forces to ask the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) to consider a resolution urging Southern Baptist parents to pull their children out of public schools and provide them with a Christian Education, they didn't foresee that their effort would inspire Baptist leaders in at least 10 conventions to introduce similar resolutions in the SBC's state and regional conventions this October and November.

(Eph. 6:4.) Unfortunately, millions of Christians still somehow justify sequestering their children daily in a pagan institution to be indoctrinated by unbelievers.
